Regional Service Corps

Service Opportunities

The Regional Service Corps is excited to begin its 26th year of providing services to the students of the Pasco School District.

  • The primary goal of this program is to work with students to improve their academic performance.
  • AmeriCorps members will serve as tutors in elementary schools.
  • While serving in this primary roles, members also participate in exciting community service projects and help recruit and coordinate volunteers.

Each year, members of all ages—and from all walks of life—serve at a variety of host sites in Benton and Franklin counties.

Just to the left you will find a menu of our current host sites.

As frequently a twice a month, members also gather as a large group for leadership enhancement activities and community projects such as the ones listed below. (For those interested in serving outside of our community, the last link will lead you to national service opportunities outside of the Tri-Cities region).

RSC-AmeriCorps tutors collaborate with school staff to improve and maintain reading proficiency for elementary students in Kindergarten through sixth grade. Members receive training and ongoing technical assistance during their term of service to provide evidence-based tutoring interventions and maintain best practices with students and staff. Members will be expected to use a computer literacy program that helps assess the needs of the students in real time and provide specific materials to use for tutoring sessions.
